Our Program

At John Berney Equestrian, we know that atmosphere is everything. The success, safety and happiness of horses and riders greatly depends on the environment created by both training program and facility. That’s why we’re committed to a supportive, fun atmosphere paired with a consistent training program where horses and riders can thrive. We have groups of riders at all different levels, including a very fun, welcoming group of adult amateurs and a great group of junior riders.

Training program

Our training program is geared toward riders looking to develop their horse for competition or sale, and is focused on the success, safety and happiness of both horse and rider. From helping riders reach goals like participating in the Emerging Athletes Program to riding at the highest collegiate level on Division 1 equestrian teams, John Berney Equestrian’s training program is the ideal fit for goal-oriented equestrians.

A combination of lessons, schooling and care of your horse is included in training. Also included are Horsemanship Clinics where riders learn about horse care, sportsmanship and other aspects of the sport beyond riding. Contact John for pricing and availability.

While our training program is geared toward riders who own their horses, we do offer great lease horses. If none of our available lease horses are a good fit, we can find the perfect lease horse to bring in for a rider to join our program. Leasing is an increasingly popular option especially for competitive junior riders in their last show season before college, or for riders looking to diversify their skills and show record without having to buy an additional horse.

LESSONS

A great way to start your riding career, our lesson program is designed for entry-level riders to develop a solid foundation in horsemanship and acquire the skills needed to eventually move on to the full-training program. Each student will learn both horse care and riding. We offer lesson packages, individual lessons and customized lesson programs for riders who own or lease a horse.
